  Have a Computer Custom Built

Should you buy a manufactured computer such as a Dell, HP, Gateway or have a Custom PC built for you? There are pros and cons to both so we've compiled a list of Pros and Cons for each and listed them here for you to decide.

Cons
  • The cheapest hardware avaliable is used to build the PC.
  • Support from your PC is often outsourced to another country.
  • The market is full of different PCs which makes choosing the right PC very difficult.
  • Most of the software that comes preinstalled is useless or is simply a trial which requires you to purchase additional licenses like an antivirus solution.
  • Computer packages often don't allow you to select the monitor, keyboard, and other items you would like but rather give you the lowest quality items.
  • After your warranty period, when the computer breaks these manufacturers set the price of replacement parts at two to five times the normal cost of hardware causing you to spend more money in repairs than necessary. These parts are only avaliable through the manufacturer.
